What we do
In England, 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (such as anxiety and depression) in any given week, 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem each year, if you’re struggling with your mental health you’re not alone. We are here for you.
Rushden Mind offers a wide range of services that can be tailored to each individuals needs, including:
- peer support groups for people with a shared experience of mental health problems
- signpost people to other forms of help
- support for people caring for someone with a mental health problem
- Short Peer Support Service called 5 Ways to Wellbeing
- Art & Craft Groups
- Walking Groups
- Day Trips
- Social Inclusion Mornings
Once a referral has been made (either professional or self) you will be invited in for an initial assessment with a member of staff. This is an opportunity for you to talk about what is going on in your life, to talk about your feelings and to get advice from the member of staff on which service is most appropriate.
Counselling, we offer a variety of modalities including person-centred, CBT and integrative. Our valued team include qualified psychotherapist, counsellors and students who have reached the level of training to work 1:1
All year round we run a number of courses that introduce positive, practical strategies for improving wellbeing.
Courses can provide you with the skills you need to deal with difficult situations, We are also able to adapt courses from 6 weeks to single day according to demand.
When and where our courses run
All our courses are open to anyone over the age of 16, we ask for a small donation of £5.00 to accompany the booking form to cover each booklet and course materials. Courses run in the daytime, at evenings and weekends.
Please note that it is essential to be able to attend the first session of our courses. The first session is an initial opportunity for you to learn more about the course and to make sure that the course is right for you at this point in time. If you are unable to attend the initial session we will advise you to book to attend the course at another time.
